Every source of pollution can be the cause of various diseases – not only the ones affecting the respiratory system but also of strokes, cancer, heart attacks, allergies, etc. We have developed a hydrogen bus which is powered by “green” hydrogen, emits no exhaust fumes and additionally purifies the air while running.
Our Polish hydrogen bus, the NesoBus, is an ideal solution for cities – it eliminates the problem of emission of harmful substances – apart from carbon dioxide (CO2) such substances include, above all, nitric oxide and, above all, the PM 2.5 fine particulates.
A hydrogen-powered bus is in fact an electric bus. Electricity is generated by fuel cells from the hydrogen stored in the tank. The bus has its own “mini power plant” on board. In physical terms the hydrogen from the tank combines with the oxygen from the air and generates electricity which powers an electric motor. No combustion process is involved. As a result of combination of hydrogen and oxygen in the fuel cell the bus emits vapor from the exhaust pipe. The emitted water is fully distilled.
Our NesoBus is a zero-emission vehicle that purifies the air.
NesoBus generates electricity as it runs, by taking-in oxygen from the air and combining it in the fuel cell with the hydrogen from the tanks. No combustion process is involved. The intake air must be fully purified by special filters to make sure that only pure oxygen reaches the fuel cell. There the oxygen combines with hydrogen and energy is generated which powers the electrical motor.
NesoBus operates using “green” hydrogen, emits not exhaust fumes and purifies the air.
Our hydrogen bus “Emits No Exhaust Fumes and Purifies the Air” (‘Nie Emituje Spalin i Oczyszcza,’ hence the acronym ‘Neso’). It has a range of 450 kilometers, which means that it can operate for 2 days without refueling. Once it runs out of hydrogen, refueling will take only 15 minutes and you can enjoy another 450 kilometers of driving range. Thanks to this our fully-ecological NesoBus does not waste many hours for battery recharging. Instead of being parked for recharging for many hours it can run continuously.
Our bus is very efficient – it uses about 8 kg of hydrogen per 100 kilometers. The capacity of the tanks is 37.5 kg of hydrogen, which offers 450 km of driving range. In the SORT-2 test the bus had hydrogen consumption of 5.5 kg per 100 km.
Our bus can also boast of fine space and capacity parameters having the length of 12 meters, width of 2.55 meters, height of 3.4 meters and curb weight of less than 13 tons it offers space for 93 passengers including 37 seats.
The construction of our bus is made from scratch as a hydrogen bus - it is not a modification or modification of a diesel or battery-operated bus.
It is built from scratch with hydrogen technology in mind - so it is very easy, for example, to replace tanks with hydrogen with higher pressure and increase the range.
The bus is modular, so we are able to adapt it to the needs of specific cities. We have 25 constructors who will be happy to adapt our bus to your needs.
Our bus is a model developed by the best and most experienced engineers from Poland in cooperation with partners from Europe and the world.
The bus is made of very high-quality components. The exterior and interior were designed by the Italian company Torino Design, specializing in the automotive industry, fuel cells come from a world leader in this field - Ballard, and hydrogen tanks from Hexagon, specializing in the production of hydrogen tanks.
After 65 days of intensive field and laboratory tests, including 40 different types of tests carried out both in Poland and abroad, our bus in April 2022 received the European vehicle type approval.
Modern design combined with the latest technologies allows you to obtain maximum technical parameters while maintaining the comfort of travelers.
We are proud to be building a factory in Swidnik in Poland – in the region with automotive industry traditions as well as very experienced and professional staff. The production capacity is expected to exceed 100 units per year. The factory will be put into operation next year.
Our bus is a solution which has been designed for cities and metropolitan areas, responding to the needs of both, the inhabitants and the natural environment
It is one of the safest vehicles (not only buses) on the market thanks to implementation of multi-level safeguards for the driver and the passengers:
Around 450 km – the bus can boast of bigger range than its competitors thanks to use of solutions which enable modular installation of 350 bar or 700 bar hydrogen tanks.
The structure is fully adapted to the needs of hydrogen-powered vehicles, which is possible thanks to having assumed, already at the design stage, that fuel cells, along with the accompanying devices, will be employed.
Increased range thanks to the modular construction of the tanks
